University Malaya Medical Centre

College Malaya Medical Center (UMMC) is an administration financed restorative establishment situated in Pantai Dalam, southwest corner of Kuala Lumpur. It was set up in 1962. It is a piece of the University of Malaya. The University was made in Singapore in 1949, joining the two chief organizations of advanced education in frontier Malaya and Singapore, Raffles College and King Edward VII College of Medicine to serve the needs of the province. Taking after the Independence of Malaya in 1957, two self-governing divisions of the college, one in Singapore and one in Kuala Lumpur, were set up in 1959. The Singapore Division was renamed theNational University of Singapore.

On 5 August 1968, the new UMMC was authoritatively opened by His Majesty the Yang Dipertuan Agung, Duli Yang, Maha Mulia Seri, Paduka Baginda, Yang Dipertuan, Agung Tuanku, Ismail Nasarudin, Shah Ibni Alharmahum and Sultan Zainal Abidin.

The University saying, "Ilmu Punca Kemajuan" (Knowledge is the Key to Success) mirrors that both UMMC and the Faculty of Medicine endeavor to experience this perfect. UMMC is one of the associations in the Ministry of Higher Education. The primary goals of UMMC are wellbeing administrations, learning and research.
