Bridgewater College

Bridgewater College, is a private, coeducational, four-year aesthetic sciences school situated in Bridgewater, a town in Rockingham County, Virginia, United States. Set up in 1880, Bridgewater College conceded ladies from the season of its establishing and was the first private, co-instructive, aesthetic sciences school in Virginia to do as such.

Situated in the beautiful and noteworthy Shenandoah Valley, Bridgewater enlists almost 1,800 understudies (58% female, 42% male) with ensured, required on-grounds lodging.

Bridgewater College was built up in 1880 as Spring Creek Normal and Collegiate Institute by Daniel Christian Flory. After nine years, the school was named Bridgewater College and sanctioned by the Commonwealth of Virginia to allow college degrees. Bridgewater gave its first Bachelor of Arts degree on June 1, 1891.

Bridgewater College turned into the first private, senior co-instructive human sciences school in Virginia and one of only a handful few licensed universities of its sort in the South. The accentuation on moral qualities in instructive projects is an aftereffect of Bridgewater's legacy and institutional optimism. The significance set on these qualities can be seen through course offerings and meeting projects that support individual honesty and solid social cognizance.

The most established bit of the Bridgewater College grounds, comprising of five fine block university structures developed before 1911 is incorporated into the Bridgewater Historic District. It was recorded on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
